For Windows XP: Underneath your chosen desktop wallpaper, click the link that closely matches your monitor's resolution. (You can find this out by going to Control Panels > Display > Settings). When a new window opens and displays the larger image, right click on your mouse and 'set as desktop'. You can adjust the stretch/tile/centre in your Control Panel settings.

For Mac OSX: Underneath your chosen desktop wallpaper, click the link that closely matches your monitor's resolution. (You can find this out by going to Apple >System Preferences > Display). When a new window opens and displays the larger image, either left click on the image and drag it to your desktop and manually put in your Pictures folder then go to System Preferences > Desktop & Screensavers, or, right click and 'save image to the desktop' and manually put in your Pictures folder then go to Apple > System Preferences > Desktop.
